How to keep score in Golf

At the end of each hole, everyone turns all six cards face up. Score each column of two cards, then add the three columns. Write that number in your box for the hole. After the last hole, the lowest total wins.

That's the scoring table from pagat.com and Bicycle's six-card Golf rules. A hole can't score less than minus 6 (a two and a king in every column) or more than 60 (two different 10-point cards in every column). The score keeper flags anything outside that range, which catches most slips of the finger.

The printed sheet has the same table at the bottom, so nobody has to ask what a king is worth. With 18 holes it also adds Out and In lines after holes 9 and 18, like a golf scorecard.

Questions

Does it save my scores?

Yes, in this browser on this device, as you type. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clear scores wipes the numbers but keeps the names for the next game.

How do I enter a negative score?

Type a minus sign before the number, like -2. A hole goes below zero when your twos outweigh everything else, for example a two and a king in one column and a pair in each of the others.

Can I use it for more than four players?

Yes, up to 8. Pagat.com says to add a second deck when more than four play.

Can the computer count a hole for me?
